Slow Fashion Exchange

Slow Fashion Exchange: A pop-up experience and chat on sustainable fashion

Do you love fashion? But are concerned about fast fashion practices? Do some of your clothes "spark joy" while others "do not spark joy"? Do you want to learn some new fashion re-purposing skills? If you've answered yes to any of these questions, then we need you!

The Sustainable fashion group is currently seeking clothing donations (gently used, washed and folded) for our Slow Fashion Exchange happening on Monday, March 25, to kick off Earth Week!

You can drop off your donations at the Lakeshore Campus until March 20 at:

  • A-168 The Base
  • WEL 302
  • Fashion Institute
  • L Commons
  • The Business office in H building

Every garment has a tale, come and be a part of our clothing story, and share yours on Monday, March 25 in LCommons from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. where you can engage in a multitude of learning experiences.

March 25 – 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. in L Commons:

  • Marketplace (clothing sale)
  • City of Toronto - "Sewing Repair Hub"
  • "Just fix it" lab (bring in your old tattered clothes and repurpose them or take on a collaborative project)
  • Clothing Selfie station - come tell/share your best-piece-of-clothing story

March 25 – 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. in L1017:

Join us for our Slow Fashion Chat! From 2 to 3 p.m., we will be joined by key members/advocates of the sustainable fashion movement for a chat. You will not want to miss this!

  • City of Toronto – Sewing Repair Hub: Munira Abukar
  • City of Toronto Solid Waste Management: Katrusia Balan
