Take Back the Night March 2018

Humber College and the University of Guelph-Humber are committed to promoting a learning, working, and living environment that is free from all forms of discrimination and harassment. As part of our commitment, the Take Back the Night (TBTN) planning committee would like to invite you to the third annual TBTN March on Thursday, September 27, 2018, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Take Back the Night (TBTN) is a movement started by women who had experienced sexual violence and domestic violence. Women and their allies marched and participated through rallies, marches and candlelight vigils, to denounce all forms of sexual violence. Today, TBTN recognizes that people of all genders can experience sexual assault and other forms of sexual violence. However, women, particularly those who are indigenous, racialized, low-income, trans and live with a disability are more likely to experience such violence.

Everyone is welcome to attend and march in solidarity with survivors of sexual assault and other forms of sexual violence. We encourage self-identified survivors and folks with mobile devices to take the lead at the front of the march if they would like, with allies and advocates marching in support behind them.
