Annually, Humber Polytechnic and the University of Guelph-Humber participate in Take Our Kids to Work Day. This is an experiential learning event for Grade 9 children of Humber and the University of Guelph-Humber employees.
This year, the program will be held on Wednesday, November 6 and will be hosted by Humber Polytechnic at the North Campus.
Students will get a chance to explore a variety of careers and sectors through a tour of our learning spaces on campus and will learn what skills are important to thrive in the world of work. There will be several guest speakers from across the institution and fun and engaging activities. Some of those activities included are:
- Job search workshop where students will learn how to write effective resumes and cover letters as well as job search techniques and interview preparation strategies
- Ice-breaker activity
- Healthy meditation break
The goal of this event is to empower students to make informed decisions and ignite their curiosity of what is possible for their future.
Employees who are interested in participating and would like to have their Grade 9 child(ren) participate, please complete the Take Our Kids to Work Day Registration Form by Friday, November 1.
Upon submission of the registration form, a member of our team (People(s) & Culture) will contact you via email with details for the event.
