There's Still Space Available - Building Bridges Across Communities

Building Bridges Across Communities: The 1960s and the birth of bilingual, multicultural Canada. In addition to feminist, civil rights, anti-war, and gay liberation movements, the 1960s brought Canada official bilingualism, the invention of multiculturalism, and the removal of racially discriminatory policies in our immigration system. This workshop will allow participants to explore some of the changes that heralded the birth of the bilingual, multicultural Canada we know and celebrate today. Through interactive learning activities that include scenarios, games and fun trivia, participants will learn about and apply intercultural concepts and perspectives to Canada’s recognition of the benefits of linguistic and cultural diversity and its efforts to build intercultural bridges across communities. Date: Thursday, February 23, 2017 Time: 10:00 am - 12:00 noon Room: B208, North Campus Please register here for this workshop. Thank you!
