Vocal Night Presented by Humber Music

Humber Music Presents Vocal Night for a stirring evening of song that will treat the listener to heartfelt folk favourites of the 1970s, contemporary pop songs of the 2000s, and original songs composed by Humber’s own talented music students. This evening will be full of sweet melodies, lush harmonies, and plenty of heart.

The first half will feature the Songwriter Circle, a group of versatile vocalists and instrumentalists dedicated to the craft of songwriting. Members collaborate closely, refining each other's new creations and helping shape each song into its best form. This concert showcases a collection of the exquisite works our songwriters have crafted over recent months with guidance from ensemble instructor Tara Kannangara.

The second half of the concert will showcase the Pop/Folk Vocal Ensemble, directed by Yvette Tollar. Featuring lush vocals, both acoustic and electric guitars and keys, cello, bass and drums, this eclectic ensemble draws from a wide variety of contemporary genres. Classic material from hit makers like Billy Joel and Laura Nyro hold space alongside contemporary luminaries like Coldplay, Labrinth, Paramore and Kwabs. Fueled by sensitive lyrical deliveries, the group’s collectively dynamic playing will engage and inspire audiences of any age.

Space in the Humber Cultural Hub Recital Hall is limited. Seats must be reserved in advance (maximum of two seats). To confirm your seat, you must check in at the Concert Reception table no later than 6:50 p.m., at which time all seats are released and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
