Humber Research Series: Developing your Research Design

Once you have your research question developed, you need to figure out your methodological approach. Will you use quantitative or qualitative methods? What kind of evidence will you gather, and will it help you find out what you want to know? Do you need a comparison or control group? In this session, we will explore different research designs that are commonly used in Teaching and Learning Research projects. This is the fourth event in the Humber Research Series, jointly offered by the Office of Applied Research and Innovation and the Centre for Teaching and Learning. 

Globe and Mail Article Features Graduate of Humber's Newcomer Programs

Amir Koohsarian is a graduate of two programs at Humber College, the IT Infrastructure Bridging Program as well as Humber's free Occupation-Specific Language Training (OSLT) Program.

Both of these programs are specifically designed to help newcomers to Canada to upgrade their skills and get into the Canadian workforce as quickly as possible. 

The Globe and Mail recently featured Amir in an article, showcasing how such college programs support the training and education needs of newcomers to Canada.

Nature Play Master Class with Claire Warden and Adam Bienenstock

The Humber Arboretum is proud to present a Nature Play Master Class with Claire Warden and Adam Bienenstock. These world-renowned experts in nature play, natural playground design, and nature pedagogy are offering a fireside chat and a one-day class at the Centre for Urban Ecology.

Fireside Chat: Monday, November 28, 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Workshop: Tuesday, November 29, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Invictus Games Day at Humber

November 15th from 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. in the Student Centre

The Invictus Games were started by Prince Harry as an event using adaptive sporting events for wounded service men and women.

This event is to promote the Invictus Games taking part in Toronto in 2017, while providing all donations to Soldier On.

Soldier On is a program that Canadian Armed Forces that serves members and veterans to overcome their physical or mental illness or injury through physical activity and sport.

Start: 10 p.m. - Saturday, November 26, 2016 
Finish: 2 a.m. - Sunday, November 27, 2016 


Purpose: To install meters on College electrical infrastructure.

Location: N and NX Buildings. Backup power will be available.

Staff, faculty and students will not be allowed entry into N and NX buildings during the hydro shutdown.
