April-Dawn Blackwell, Associate Dean, Pathways

It is with great pleasure that I announce that April-Dawn Blackwell has accepted the position of Associate Dean, Pathways in the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences effective July 9, 2018.

April-Dawn joins Humber and LAS after enjoying a very successful academic career in various administrative roles at several Ontario institutions, including Conestoga College and Centennial College of Applied Arts & Technology where she has most recently held the position of Senior Manager, Academic Partnership and Pathways, Campus Manager, Pickering Learning Site. Her work at Conestoga involved not only leading institutional quality initiatives but also teaching. She has spent many semesters in the classroom engaging diverse learners, teaching a variety of courses.

Prior to joining the colleges, she also held the senior leadership positions with BMO, in the area of leadership and enterprise learning, as well as the Canadian Management Centre where, as Vice President of Public Programs, she oversaw the strategic operations of a division that focused on programming development, design, and delivery.

April-Dawn holds an Executive Masters of Business from Western University and a Bachelor of Administration from University of Western Sydney, Australia and a Canadian Institute of Management, designation. She also understands the values of pathways and postsecondary partnerships having begun her postsecondary studies at Conestoga College.

On behalf of the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences and the entire Humber community, let me extend a warm welcome to April-Dawn. We look forward to working with her on many new and exciting initiatives as she leads the faculty and staff involved in the development and delivery of courses and programs in General Arts and Science and Dual Credit pathways at Humber.
