I write to share some remarkable news from our Faculty of Health Sciences and Wellness. Our Practical Nurse (PN) Diploma and UNB/Humber Baccalaureate Nursing (BN) Programs have been awarded exemplary program approval status, receiving the highest approval possible.  

The College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO), Governing Council, has awarded the PN Diploma Program with Category 1 status. The Council also reviewed our mandatory approval indicators for our UNB/Humber BN Degree Program. Our results demonstrated exemplary scoring and our first time pass rates on our national registration examinations were well above the national average. 

I want to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of the entire Nursing Division, and our administration team for their tireless commitment to ensuring our Nursing Programs (PN and BN cluster) are models of excellence for the province. Our system leadership is a direct reflection of the commitment of all involved. It is clear the collaboration demonstrated with the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Sciences and Innovative Learning, Bioscience, Program Planning, Development & Renewal, Applied Research & Innovation, and the Centre for Teaching and Learning has created the conditions for our programs to be ranked among the best in Ontario. Thank you to all who worked tirelessly to ensure these excellent results, we can all be very proud.
