#HumberAtHome Series – April 2

As we adjust to working and learning at home, it’s important to stay connected to our colleagues and our community. To help keep us all connected, we are launching the #HumberAtHome series. We want to know about how you are taking care of your well-being right now, how your teams are adding a bit of fun into your interactions, and which resources are helping you.

Here are some examples of what members of the Humber community are doing to bring their community together:

Faculty of Media & Creative Arts

Bianca DiPietro, Program Co-ordinator, Graphic Design Advanced Diploma, created a personal project titled “Dear Coronoavirus.” It’s a visual journal that expresses her feelings and experiences under these current circumstances. View the project here.

Faculty of Business

The Fashion Arts and Business program digitally presents the annual Walk It Out Fashion Show, The Powerhouse. The fashion event is organized by the graduating students with the support of their faculty. Join in through Instagram and Twitter on April 7.

Humber Arboretum

If you’re looking for a new a new activity the Humber Arboretum has you covered. Make a GOOS paper box to celebrate National GOOS Paper Day! GOOS paper is still Good On One Side, and making a special place for it can help encourage your family to reduce & reuse. Click here for more activity details.

Faculty of Liberal Arts & Sciences and Innovative Learning

Featured above is a creative Humber team hosting opportunities for employees to engage more. Among many, one of their activities is a 30 minute structured “Connection Sessions” twice a week at 10 a.m. Participants can join and get to know each other in a more personal way. Part of the sharing is acknowledging the hard work and contribution of fellow team members and another part of the session is answering “Questions of the Day”. This is a great opportunity for the team to connect in a more social setting, as this is an element that is often lost when you are working remotely.

Individual Tips from Humber Staff

Debbie Krulicki, Marketing Content Coordinator with Government Relations, Marketing, and Communications is leading a special initiative to brighten everyone’s day. “Sometimes it's hard to work from home, and we can feel a little disconnected from the people we work with. Everyone is going the extra mile, but we don't have the same interactions with our colleagues.”

“Here's something I've started - it's fun, and it lets my colleagues and suppliers know that I appreciate their efforts during a tough time.”

Debbie is sending out out virtual awards. This week, The Patience Award, The Fastest Responder Award and The Stick-with-it Award were handed out.
