#CommunitiesCreate Group Choir Workshop

Join us next Monday May 25 for the #CommunitiesCreate Group Choir workshop, presented by Humber Faculty of Media and Creative Arts, Humber Music, and Ryerson's Creative Innovation Studio that is all about using your voice in an intentional way.

Singer-songwriter, Lauren Dillen, will guide you through hands-on exercises that will teach you to connect your body and breath to help you relax, get over your fears or inhibitions around using your voice, and will culminate in a joint remote sing-along to demonstrate how we can use our voices to bring people together.

Lauren is a vocalist, guitarist and lyricist who blends the sounds of folk with the harmonic and rhythmic complexities of jazz for a truly unique sound. Inspired by artists like Joni Mitchell, Adrianne Lenker, and Justin Vernon, Lauren writes with honest lyricism and creates tension and release in her soft-electric sound. Lauren is beyond excited to be leading the next #CommunitiesCreate workshop. She will be guiding participants through a series of exercises that will help them use their voices in an intentional way to connect with others.

About #CommunitiesCreate

The Communities Create Initiative empowers Canadians to express themselves using creativity, to build their skills, and find human connection during this unprecedented time. Participants are invited to engage in a series of free online workshops sponsored by the Canadian creative community, to help them convey how they are feeling through a variety of different mediums, and then share their work online.

Each workshop will approach the question “how are you feeling right now?” in a number of different ways. Once complete, participants will be invited to share their creative works using the hashtag #CommunitiesCreate. The content will be compiled into a “time capsule” to form a collective look at how Canadians are feeling through the pandemic.
