Services Fair Week

The Orientation Team within Student Success & Engagement is excited to announce our upcoming Services Fair Week from Tuesday, October 20 to Friday, October 23. There will be four different events that are all virtual and free for students! Here is an overview of the various opportunities for students to connect and engage with multiple Student Services:

Virtual Services Fair
Tuesday, October 20
11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Join us for on Blackboard from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. EST (drop-In) where you will get to learn all about the wonderful Student Services available to help you succeed and stay connected!

Format:

This year our Service Fair is going to be held virtually. We will be having virtual rooms with drop-in sessions happening every 30 minutes. This is a great way to learn about the different services that are available to all Humber Students while virtually meeting new people, playing some fun games, and winning prizes!

Wednesday, October 21
11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

Join The BASE (Black Academic Success & Engagement), the LGBTQ+ Resource Centre, Indigenous Education & Engagement for a panel discussion on wellness and staying connected while living life online. You will also have the opportunity to connect with fellow students to discuss these important topics.

Keynote Speaker: Dr. ABC “living your best online life”
Thursday, October 22 
11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Join motivational speaker Dr. ABC, for a powerful talk on how to thrive while navigating life online.

Moving from face to face (F2F) engagement to online/virtual learning has impacted our educational journey in very tangible ways. More and more, we called upon to adjust, adapt, demonstrate increased flexibility, and grow through these changes. How then can we prepare, remain engage and enjoy our learning opportunities during this time? In this talk we will discuss:

  1. Good practices as you make the move from F2F to online.
  2. The knowledge, skills, attitudes, and dispositions needed to be successful online.
  3. Selfcare strategies for sustainable engagement.

Friday, October 23
12 p.m. to 1 p.m.

Join your Orientation leaders for a fun game of putting your knowledge to the test with Services Jeopardy! Lots of fun prizes to be won.
