Futures of Education - Learning to Become 2021

Through Humber's engagement in the Global Polytechnic Alliance you are invited to join VIA's upcoming conference Future of Education: Learning to Become, free to all participants and online April 22 and 23. Among the many engaging sessions and keynotes, you can hear about the exciting work of Humber College students and the students of the Global Polytechnic Alliance as they talk about #systemsthinking and #sdgs2030 through engagement in the Map the Systems challenge, an exciting initiative led by Humber's Faculty of Liberal Arts and Innovative Learning.

The conference is inspired by two global UNESCO-initiatives, Education for Sustainable Development: Towards achieving the SDGs (ESD for 2030), and Futures of Education - Learning to Become, an initiative focusing on visions for the future(s) of education post-2050.

The overall theme of the conference is Education for and as Sustainable Development in the Anthropocene. Explored through three thematic lenses:

  • The Anthropocene, visions for the future(s) and the development of the intergenerational contract
  • Sustainable development, equality, diversity, and ESD
  • Sustainable development, edification and ESD of poly-technical dducation
