I am delighted to announce the appointment of Ahmed (Am) Sagarwala as the new Associate Dean, Interaction Design in the Faculty of Media and Creative Arts. 

Am is an educator, designer, and developer who specializes in digital communications and workflow. Am’s rich skillset encompasses all facets of the Interaction Design cluster—web development, graphic design, user experience and user interface design, database management—as well digital marketing and workflow automation.

Am has taught design and digital communications at Ryerson University for over 10 years and most recently was an assistant professor at California Polytechnic State University (CSU Cal Poly). In addition to his teaching practice, he is the digital experience manager at Ryerson’s Future Skills Centre and the founder of Artform, which provides web, design, data management, and IT solutions. He previously managed Ryerson’s Master of Digital Media program.

A graduate of the Master of Digital Media program himself, Am also holds a Bachelor of Technology. He is an advocate for inclusive education and has authored several open education resources. His first day at Humber will be May 1, 2021.
