Flags will be lowered to half-mast in memory of Ell Walsh on Tuesday, November 14.
Dear Humber community,
It is with heavy hearts that we inform you of the passing of Elianna “Ell” Walsh, a first-year student in the Social Service Worker Program. As a community, we are deeply saddened by this loss and our thoughts and condolences go out to Ell’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.
To honour Ell and her memory, we will be lowering the flags at the college to half-mast on November 14, 2023. This gesture serves as a symbol of our respect and admiration for Ell and the impact she had on our community during her time with us.
We recognize that grief is a difficult and personal experience, if you need support or are supporting someone and want to talk, please reach out to someone close to you, your PC or Associate Dean, or EAP directly (1.844.880.9142).
If students are looking for support, please reach out to Student Wellness and Counselling (swac@humber.ca). Alternatively, if at any time they need immediate personal support or counselling, they can access the Good2Talk Helpline at 1.866.925.5454, or use Therapy Assist Online, which provides online and mobile tools.
Once again, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Ell.
Sincerely,
Ian Crookshank
Associate Vice-President, Learner and Career Success & Dean of Students
