Ian Baird

April 11, 2012

Dear Colleagues,

It is with deep sadness that I inform you that our dear and respected colleague, Ian Baird, passed away late last week. His partner, Anna, and children, Madeline and Isabelle were by his side. During his battle with cancer, Ian and his family shared many tender moments with one another, and Ian passed away peacefully in his home.

Ian was an irreplaceable colleague and friend, and we will miss him greatly. We are saddened by the loss of this great individual who was instrumental to many of the college’s achievements, and who positively affected the lives of so many students and members of the Humber community.
There is to be a memorial service on Friday, April 13th at the (old) Brooklyn Community Centre. There will be visitation from 6pm until 7:45pm, at which time a small, informal service will be held for those who wish to attend. The address is 45 Cassels Rd. E., Brooklyn, Ontario.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting a donation to the trust fund set up for Ian's daughters. Please contact the Markham Family Health Team Aging at Home Program to make donations at 905.471.9999 ext. 456.
