The Orientation Team within Student Success and Engagement (SSE) is excited to begin collaborating with Academic Faculties and campus partners in preparation for Summer 2026 Orientation. We look forward to working with you all to support new students in their transition to Humber Polytechnic.
Orientation will comprise virtual pre-arrival events, online guides and resources, program-focused Meet Your Faculty sessions, and on-campus events and activities.
Outline for Summer 2026 Orientation
April 6 to 24
The First Year Experience (FYE) and Orientation Team will be connecting with incoming students through a series of Ready, Set, Humber! email communications. Over this three‑week period, students will receive helpful emails designed to welcome them and guide their transition into Humber. These messages will provide important information about what to expect in post‑secondary education, opportunities for engagement, and the various supports available to help them succeed.
Ready, Set, Humber! Emails are created to ensure students have the information they need before starting classes, helping them feel prepared, confident, and connected.
As part of these communications, students will also receive instructions on how to register for their Academic Orientation (Meet Your Faculty session) and Orientation Day. These sessions offer students the opportunity to meet their professors, connect with classmates, explore academic expectations, and learn more about campus life and student support.
In addition, one week before Orientation, students will be invited to join a Meet Your Student Life Team virtual session. This live session gives students a chance to meet the FYE and Student Life staff who help bring Orientation to life, ask questions, and get to know the team supporting them throughout their transition.
