Support Staff Professional Development (SSPD) 2026

We are excited to share details of the 2026 Support Staff Professional Development (SSPD) Event, which focuses on professional development for support staff. This year marks our 36th year celebrating this important event for our Support Staff.  

When: Tuesday, March 3 to Friday, March 6 
SSPD will take place during the Winter Reading Week break. 

Where: Hybrid format – both in-person and virtual sessions will be offered.

Our support staff play a vital role in helping us deliver high-quality programs and services to students and employees. The event theme, ‘Balance. Build. Belong.’, reflects our commitment to promoting personal well‑being, nurturing professional growth, and deepening connections across our community. This year, our professional development sessions will focus on: 

  • Career growth and development 
  • Technology, productivity and innovation 
  • Sustainability 
  • Personal well-being and mental health 
  • Equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging 
  • Indigenous education and engagement 

There will be 19 workshops offered over four days across these focus areas. '

Registration is open to all support staff employees, including full-time, part-time, casual, and temporary staff.
