Innovative Learning invites Humber faculty to participate in a collaborative professional learning opportunity: The Instructional Skills Workshop (ISW).

The Instructional Skills Workshop (ISW) is an internationally recognized, immersive, and highly participatory professional development program designed for educators seeking to enhance and reflect on their teaching and facilitation skills. Open to both novice and experienced faculty across disciplines, the ISW provides a collaborative, peer-based learning environment to explore foundational and advanced teaching principles, refine existing practices, and experiment with innovative instructional strategies.

Participants who complete the ISW will be able to: 

  • Implement learner-centred instructional strategies and techniques
  • Establish positive learning environments
  • Navigate contemporary learning environments effectively
  • Integrate inclusive teaching and facilitation practices that respond to a wide variety of learning needs
  • Use feedback to critically self-reflect as a teacher and facilitator
