The Department of Student Success and Engagement is pleased to announce the appointment of Nora Simpson to the role of Associate Director, Accessible Learning Services. This newly configured role will work direclty with staff in Disability Services, as well as with Diana Jacobsen and her team in the Test Centres.

Nora holds an Honours B.A. from the University of King’s College in Halifax and a Juris Doctor from Dalhousie Law School. After her call to the Ontario bar, Nora practiced law for 4 years specializing in the areas of poverty and human rights law. During part of that time, Nora worked for the Human Rights Legal Support Centre and represented clients before the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario.

In 2010, Nora became an associate professor and acting program coordinator at Lambton College in Sarnia. There, she developed and launched a new Law Clerk diploma program. While at Lambton College, Nora also taught Alternative Dispute Resolution and a number of other business courses. Most recently, Nora has held an administrative position at Mohawk College where she has been engaged in revitalizing a number of programs in Mohawk’s School of Continuing Education.

Throughout her career, both in law and academia, Nora's work has involved supporting people with disabilities. Her experience in the classroom and administrative offices within Ontario colleges suits her well to support the work she will be doing with both Disability Services and the Test Centres.

Please join me in welcoming her to Humber.
