Each semester, the Writing Centre Book Club invites students, faculty, support staff, and administrators to come together for an open discussion about a novel of interest. Come join us to discuss the latest book selection "Holding Still for as Long as Possible"By Zoe Whittall.

Zoe is the author of three novels and three collections of poetry. In 2008 she won the Writers’ Trust Dayne Ogilvie Award for best gay emerging writer. If you get a chance, be sure to pick up her prize-winning novel, Holding Still for as long as Possible, from the Humber Book Store.

About the Holding Still for as Long as Possible
What is it like to grow into adulthood with the war on terror as your defining political memory, with SARS and Hurricane Katrina as your backdrop? In this robust, elegantly plotted and ultimately life-affirming novel, a generation we’ve rarely seen in literature – the twenty-five year olds who grew up on anti-anxiety meds, text-messaging each other truncated emotional reactions unsure of what’s public and what’s private.

Lunch, coffee and treats will be provided.

To register, drop by The Writing Centre or contact us by email or phone (information above).
