Event runs from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
ACCEPTING:
- Batteries
- Cell phones
- Computers
- Keyboards, mice
- Printers, scanners
- TVs, VCRs, DVD players
- USBs, cords, etc.
ECHARITY COMPONENT:
- For every metric tonne of materials collected TRI will donate $150 to the Humber College United Way campaign
ELECTRONIC RECYCLING PARTNER:
- Dismantling company
- TRI’s process
- receive waste
- hard drives are wiped
- products are sorted by type
- dismantled
- remove any hazardous materials like ink and toner or batteries all of which are completely recyclable as well
- remove all the wires, and computer boards, fans and motors
- materials shipped to recyclers
- Only about 2.5 per cent of everything TRI receives goes to landfill
