Winterizing & Harvesting the hive

Have you ever wondered- How does one get honey out of the comb? Where do bees go over the winter? How can I get some wonderful organic honey from the Humber Arboretum? What can beesewax be used for? Even if you haven’t, this workshop for you.

Learn the answer to these questions as well how to uncap frames of honey and the various tools of the trade. Take the opportunity to spin out the honey using our large hand-cranked centrifuge. Don’t forget things may get messy so be sure to come with an apron or wear clothing you won’t have to worry about.

1:30 p.m. – 2 p.m.
3 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Price: $20 per person
Bottles of honey will also be available for sale, which make for a great present.
