President's Lecture - Pale Blue Hope: Death and Life in UN Peacekeeping

Ronald Poulton, former legal advisor to UN Peacekeeping Operations and human rights investigator, will argue that the United Nations offers a neutral alternative to partisan and reckless superpower interventions in the name of peace and security. Although largely abandoned by Canada and other Western powers, and admittedly imperfect and sometimes grossly negligent, it is the only mechanism which can truly provide a troubled world with an avenue for peaceful reconciliation.
