Humber College Theatre Performance instructors Maja Ardal and Richard Greenblatt will join heavyweights of Canadian theatre this Saturday in the Ultimate Theatre Championship, a gala fundraiser for Theatre Pass Muraille. Ardal, who teaches playwriting, will face Andre Sills, and second-year acting instructor Greenblatt -- the nationally acclaimed co-creator of TWO PIANOS, FOUR HANDS -- will compete against his TWO PIANOS collaborator Ted Dykstra.
Bare-knuckle monologues, grudge-match scene work and nail-biting stage combat will keep you on the edge of your seat! Inspired by the UFC, this is a unique theatre experience showcasing the talent and diversity of Toronto۪s theatre artists. Actors are paired up according to their division for an all-out theatrical duel. The matches will occur onstage within a caged octagon, made to appear like a UFC bout. Guest judges, MCs providing commentary, hot dogs and popcorn are all part of the experience.
Tickets for the gala are $100 each, with a charitable tax receipt for $70. Admission includes two complimentary beverages and food.
