Acute Care Partners Appreciation Dinner - Recap

March 1, 2016

The School of Health Sciences hosted a Partner Appreciation Dinner on Thursday, February 4, 2016. The event thanked our partnering agencies who provide vital practicum placements for the of School of Health Science nursing students. Clinical practice placements in acute care provide an opportunity for our students to apply the learning from classroom and lab instruction in the real world of health care.

The evening began with a welcome provided by Jason Powell, Dean of the School of Health Science, who thanked our acute care partners in supporting student learning. Attendees had the opportunity to network with Humber faculty and colleagues across the GTA who provide learning opportunities for our students. The evening included roundtable discussions to hear the agencies’ perspective on what they envision as the “practice ready graduate”.

The event was held in the Seventh Semester, North Campus and included attendees from the Center for Addiction and Mental Health, Trillium Health Partners, The Hospital for Sick Children, North York General Hospital and St. Michael’s Hospital.
