Join us for the Scholars' Cafe

Welcome to the Scholars' Cafe! This is a new CTL initiative this fall. It's a chance to meet with other faculty over coffee, to discuss the latest in the teaching and learning literature. It's like a book club, but for journal articles.

The Scholars' Cafe will meet at 10 a.m. on the first Friday of each month (with the exception of September, which is on the second Friday), and engage in informal discussion about a selected paper from the teaching and learning literature.

This month's paper is called "Creating Masterpieces: How Course Structures and Routines Enable Student Performance", and can be accessed here: journals.sagepub.com/doi/full/10.1177/1052562912474894#articleShareContainer. In this paper, the authors explore different ways to set students up for success, by considering a number of variables, including engagement, age, technology, and cognitive factors.

Please join us for coffee and a collegial discussion on Friday, September 8 from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. in D225I (North Campus).
