Fall Into Bird Gardening - Talk, Tour & Planting

Want to help support wildlife AND have a more vibrant outdoor space? Learn how to create a garden the birds will love!

Join us at the Tranquility Bird Garden, a new learning space at the Humber Arboretum that was created in partnership with Bird Studies Canada. At this family-friendly event you’ll be able to:

  • Get tips on tree and shrub planting from the Etobicoke Master Gardeners
  • Get hands-on practice planting a few bird-friendly shrubs
  • Learn the Do's and Don’ts of backyard bird-feeding
  • Take part in a Bird Walk through the Arboretum 
  • Try hand-feeding a chickadee
  • Get your gardening questions answered at an Etobicoke Master Gardener Advice Clinic

At 11:00 a.m., we will pause for a minute of silence to honour those who have served.

This is an outdoor event for all skill levels - please dress for the weather and feel free to bring your gardening gloves and/or binoculars if you have them!

When: Saturday, November 11th, 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Where: Humber Arboretum, North Campus (Directions)
How: This event is FREE but please register in advance through the website to help us plan.

The Tranquility Bird Garden combines thoughtful garden design with informative signage to demonstrate how property owners can make their own outdoor spaces more bird-friendly based on their plant choices and the habitat structures they provide.
