Humber College Community and Partnership Fund

Humber has a long history of supporting our community through a variety of outreach programs. To that end, a key element of Humber’s forthcoming 2013-2018 Strategic Plan is to continue developing creative connections with our community non-profit partners.

I am pleased to announce that we are building on this legacy with the new Humber College Community and Partnership Fund.

Created by Humber’s Community Outreach and Workforce Development department, this initiative will replace funding opportunities previously received through the President’s office.

It will help academic schools and administrative departments further cultivate relationships with partners and stakeholders – bringing the community to Humber and Humber into the community. Local children, youth, newcomers and potentially disadvantaged groups are all expected to benefit from projects funded by this initiative.

An initial $60,000 is available for four to five projects to be launched in summer 2013, with an additional $90,000 to be added in the fall for future projects.

The application process is simple:

  • Complete the application form
  • Final applications are due by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2013. Applications should be submitted by email to Geraldine Babcock (geraldine.babcock@humber.ca)
  • Any questions about the application process should be submitted in writing, via email, to Sabra Desai (sabra.desai@humber.ca) by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2013.
  • Submissions will be judged by a panel of representatives from academic schools and administrative departments.
  • Recipients will be notified of their funding allocation by 5 p.m. on Friday, June 7, 2013
  • Submissions selected will enter into a formal agreement with Humber
