Showing our PRIDE

Humber joins in the celebration of PRIDE Month in Toronto with the raising of the rainbow flag on Wednesday, June 21 at North Campus and Friday, June 23 at Lakeshore Campus. The ceremonies will take place at 9 a.m. at the flagpoles in front of the LRC at the North, and the flagpoles outside of the Student Welcome and Resource Centre at Lake.

Humber recognizes that we are a very diverse community, proud of our many differences that make this a great place to learn and work. As a College we hold respect and inclusion as core values and are committed to creating a culture that honours diversity and equity, engenders a place where we can all be ourselves and demonstrates our belief that we are a culmination of our intersecting identities.

The PRIDE flag is a visible symbol of Humber’s support for LGBTQ+ students, staff and faculty, and the broader community, and it is a sign that all people are welcome and belong at Humber. I am very proud of the work of our institution in acknowledging the value we place on diversity. In the context of PRIDE, particular thanks go to those who work in our LGBTQ+ resource centres and to our Gender and Sexual Diversity Committee, for supporting LGBTQ+ students and staff and for helping to make the Humber community a safe space for all.
