Be prepared for your presentation
- Gather all the information you need for your presentation. This includes:
- Reading your syllabus/ presentation guidelines thoroughly, note the length of time for presentation
- Do the research you need to do for the presentation
- Create an outline for your presentation:
- Introduce yourself and topic
- Body- content
- Conclusion- simple review of important information
- Aim for 1-2 minutes talking per slide
- Include images and diagrams, try to include short texts instead of long paragraphs
- Use high contrasting colours and easy to read fonts (Arial or Calibri, size 16 font minimum)
- Practice! Practice! Practice!
Avoid technical difficulties:
- Bring your adaptor for your laptop
- Bring a copy on an usb
- Don’t rely on the internet to access your presentation
- Save a copy as a pdf (more compatible with different devices)
