Announcing the Voluntary Retirement Program (VRP)

April 12, 2016

Since our founding in 1967, Humber College has become a recognized leader in postsecondary education with a proud polytechnic identity. In recent years, we have seen unprecedented growth and demand and now serve more than 29,000 full-time students across our eight academic schools. There is much to be proud of and we couldn’t have done it without the hard work and contributions of our people.

In recognition of our long serving employees, we are offering a one-time Voluntary Retirement Program to those who are eligible to retire with an unreduced CAAT pension as of March 31, 2016.

Long service and employee recognition are important to Humber. As we meet our commitments to student success, we must also honour the efforts and ideas of those who have brought Humber to where we are today. Humber is committed to investing in our employees and this offer is an expression of that commitment.  This program recognizes our long service employees while providing new opportunities for others. As employees participate in this program, know that we have a commitment to maintain the level of full-time complements across Humber.

Choosing when to retire is a personal decision. We are offering the Voluntary Retirement Program to our full-time employees who are eligible to retire with an unreduced pension as of March 31, 2016. Those identified as eligible will receive a letter mailed to their home address informing them of their eligibility for the program. Please note that approvals are subject to eligibility and operational requirements.

Thank you all for your continued hard work and bringing your best to Humber every day.
