Cheryl DeRooy, Secretary, Office of the Principal, Lakeshore Campus

The Principal’s Office and everyone at Lakeshore Campus would like to bid a very fond farewell to Cheryl DeRooy who has decided to take an early retirement as of August 29, 2014. Cheryl began at Humber in 1997 as the part-time receptionist at the Lakeshore Campus. During this time, she also completed a one day a week secondment in the School of Creative and Performing Arts. In 2000, she became full-time working as the Lakeshore Campus Receptionist. In 2001, she started providing the support to Pat Ferbyack (retiring 2001), Ian Smith (retiring in 2009) and then Pamela Hanft (retiring in 2012) and presently Wanda Buote in their role as Principal.

Over the years, Cheryl has established meaningful relationships with everyone who has worked with her. She is a very special woman and will be greatly missed at Humber, especially in the Principal’s Office. We wish to thank Cheryl for her many contributions to the Humber community and wish her all the best in her retirement.

Please join us in celebrating Cheryl’s retirement on August 28th at 3 p.m. in A170 (the formerly known as the Blue Room).
