The Office of Sustainability is proud to share that Humber Polytechnic has been named one of Canada’s Greenest Employers for the 10th consecutive year. The designation is presented by MediaCorp Canada to companies who are leading in the creation of a culture of sustainability and the advancement of environmental initiatives.
Over the last decade, we have achieved distinctive milestones and continuously pushed boundaries. Some of the special highlights from the past year include:
- Signing the Forward Food Pledge, which builds on our commitment to provide fresh and healthy food to the campus community.
- Expansion of the Friendlier reusable container program into the Culinary Arts program’s culinary labs.
- Receiving the Zero Carbon Building – Design Standard certification for the Humber Cultural Hub from the Canada Green Building Council.
Dive into this Humber Today story to learn more about the institution’s commitment to sustainability and how environmental projects help us build brilliance.
All of this is only possible thanks to the support of students, staff and faculty who collaborate on the integration of sustainability across all corners of the campus. To celebrate and recognize our community’s efforts, the Office of Sustainability is introducing the Faces of Sustainability campaign.
On a rolling basis, we will be highlighting someone from the Humber community who meaningfully integrates sustainability into their activities at Humber. You can find the stories on the Sustainability website and regularly on Humber’s Office of Sustainability social media and Communique posts. If you would like to join the movement, reach out to sandra.leutri@humber.ca and share how you’ve been championing sustainability at Humber Polytechnic.
