For most people, the holiday season is a happy and exciting time spent with family and friends. For those who are going through personal hardship, however, these times can feel even more challenging than usual. Even within Humber College, and for various reasons, some of your colleagues are battling through financial struggles and personal challenges. This is the first time the Union is running this event. Our goal is to help alleviate some of the burdens these individuals and their families are facing by providing food, clothing, and toys as needed. At this time, we are accepting donations of non-perishable foods, new/gently used clothes, and new/gently used toys. Any Humber employee who is interested in receiving a holiday package can contact us via email (info@humberfacultyunion.org) or in person (K216). To the best of our ability, your package will be customized to fit your needs. Your participation is completely confidential. If there are no interested parties, all donations will be donated to appropriate charities, such as United Way, Humber student food bank, or local shelters.
