Introducing Frank Cappadocia – Dean, Continuous Professional Learning

Please join me in welcoming Frank Cappadocia to Humber College as the inaugural Dean, Continuous Professional Learning (CPL). Frank’s first day is Monday, May 3, 2021.

Frank joins Humber from Lakehead University’s Orillia campus where, most recently, he held the position of Associate Vice-President of Administration & Community Engagement. During his 12-year tenure at Lakehead, Frank held several leadership positions including: Associate Vice-Provost, Administrative Services, Assistant Dean Student Affairs, and Project Lead for the Lakehead-Georgian Partnership. Frank’s extensive postsecondary experience includes roles as the inaugural Director of York University’s Centre for Student Community and Leadership Development, General Manager and Chief Administrative Officer of the College Student Alliance and the General Manager and Chief Operating Officer for the Continuing Education Students’ Association of Ryerson University.

Frank is a graduate of Humber’s Diploma in Law and Security Administration program and was President of the Humber Students’ Federation (Lakeshore). Frank completed his undergraduate degree in Sociology at York University and holds a master’s degree in Leadership Studies from Regis University. He is pursuing his MBA in Educational Leadership at the University of Cumbria.

At Humber, Frank will be responsible for driving our CPL (non-postsecondary) strategy in collaboration with our Faculties, Education & Training Solutions (ETS) and other service delivery providers. The CPL strategy will align corporate training, continuing education, professional learning and other programming, helping us to stay at the forefront of responding to labour market demand and making it easier for learners to access the full range of our programming.

Frank will lead and support the finalization of the CPL collaborative framework and implementation through a highly consultative and collaborative approach.

As there will be an emphasis on business development and revenue diversification, Corporate Training and business development services currently in ETS will be moved under Frank’s leadership, effective June 2021. Wanda Buote, Dean, Education & Training Solutions, will continue to lead the growth of the programs within ETS, including the Real Estate Education Program and the recently announced partnership with the Condominium Management Regulatory Authority of Ontario.

Welcome, Frank!
