Humber College Institute of Technology & Advanced Learning is pleased to announce the appointment of Jessica Bowen as the Manager, Human Rights, Equity & Diversity effective June 1, 2015.

Jessica joined Humber in May 2011 as the AODA Coordinator and worked collaboratively with the Schools and Departments to ensure Humber’s full compliance with the Act. In December 2012, she was promoted to the Human Rights, Equity and Diversity Advisor. In this role, Jessica conducted human rights investigations and delivered human rights related education to students.

Jessica brings to her new role a strong commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable and inclusive learning, working, and living environment at Humber. She will be managing the AODA Portfolio along with increased early intervention activities into human rights related concerns.

Jessica holds two MA Degrees from McMaster University; one in Philosophy and the other in Gender Studies and Feminist Research. She will begin her LLM in Alternative Dispute Resolution on a part-time basis in September 2015.

Jessica reports to Nancy Simms, Director, Centre for Human Rights, Equity and Diversity.
