Lisa Morris, Associate Dean, Faculty of Social and Community Services

I am delighted to announce that Lisa Morris will take on the role of Associate Dean in the Faculty of Social and Community Services (FSCS). Lisa has been a dedicated member of FSCS for over a decade, serving in various teaching and leadership roles. She joined Humber Polytechnic as a part-time instructor in 2013 and transitioned to a full-time faculty position in 2015. She has served as the Program Coordinator for both the part-time and full-time streams of the Social Service Worker diploma program, where she has championed student success, equity, and the development of accessible program pathways.

Most recently, Lisa has co-led a Priority 3 Project supported by the office of the Senior Vice-President, Academic focusing on Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR). The goal of this initiative is to improve the recognition of prior learning by streamlining the PLAR process, making education more accessible to all students, including non-traditional learners.

Lisa holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Windsor and a Bachelor of Social Work from Toronto Metropolitan University. She is also a registered Social Worker. Prior to joining Humber, Lisa worked as a Reintegration Social Worker, supporting youth in conflict with the law who faced high-risk charges.

Please join me in congratulating Lisa as she begins her new role on January 6.
