Melissa Gallo, Acting Associate Director, Advising & Career Services

It is with great pleasure that I announce that Melissa Gallo will be stepping into the position of Acting Associate Director, Advising & Career Services, as of Monday, January 25, 2016.

Since the fall 2014, Melissa has been seconded from her role as manager, Peer Assisted Learning Support (PALS), to The Centre for Teaching & Learning, consulting on the development of a service-learning framework for Humber. During her tenure with PALS Melissa led the development of the TAP program for first-generation students and Humber’s Alternative Spring Break, restructured the tutoring program to meet the requirements of certification under the College Reading & Learning Association, and launched the first installation of the PASS program.

Melissa has over ten years of experience here at Humber, which includes time as an advisor with the International Centre as well as teaching part-time. Melissa is currently a candidate for Doctor of Education at the University of Liverpool.  She brings a depth of knowledge about postsecondary services and learning, and a demonstrated creative talent for developing new programs both of which will be a great asset to advancing the mandate of Advising & Career Services. Please join me in congratulating Melissa.
