In Memoriam: Zion Allison

Dear Community,

It is with heavy hearts that we inform you of the passing of Zion Allison, a first-year student in the 3D Animation Program. As a community, we are deeply saddened by this loss and our thoughts and condolences go out to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.

To honor Zion and their memory, we will be lowering the flags at the college to half-mast on April 11, 2023. This gesture serves as a symbol of our respect and admiration for Zion and the impact he had on our community during his time with us.

We recognize that grief is a difficult and personal experience, if you need support or are supporting someone and want to talk, please reach out to someone close to you, your Program Coordinator or Associate Dean, or EAP directly (1.844.880.9142).

If students are looking for support, please reach out to Student Wellness and Counselling (swac@humber.ca). Alternatively, if at any time they need immediate personal support or counselling, they can access the Good2Talk Helpline at 1-866-925-5454, or use Therapy Assist Online (https://ca.taoconnect.org/login), which provides online and mobile tools.

Once again, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Zion.

Sincerely,

Ian Crookshank
Associate Vice-President, Learner and Career Success & Dean of Students
