The Ministry of Colleges and Universities released a memo on July 16 which states that all in-person instruction and on-campus activities at postsecondary education institutions would be permitted to resume without capacity limits or physical distancing requirements starting in Fall 2021. This direction is contingent on the continued progress of provincewide vaccination rates and continued improvements in public health and health care indicators.
Masks and face coverings will still be required for indoor settings and institutions are required to continue following public health and workplace safety requirements.
The memo indicates institutions continue to have the flexibility to deliver academic instruction in the mode that best suits the needs of students and the individual institution.
Humber College is currently reviewing the memo. Additional details, as they may apply to Humber, will be shared in the coming weeks. We will continue to monitor and keep the Humber community updated.
Humber will continue with our plans to provide a mix of both in-person and interactive online education in the fall 2021 term.
A broader Fall 2021 start-up announcement is planned for mid-to-late August.
