National Day of Mourning

We are remembering lives lost in the workplace and renewing our commitment to a safe and healthy workplace. April 28th has been designated the Day of Mourning for workers who have been killed or injured in the workplace. It is a time when workers, families, employers, and others come together to honour those who have lost their lives or have been seriously impacted by work-related accidents or occupational diseases. This day also reminds us that we must work together and renew our efforts to continually improve health and safety in the workplace.   To commemorate the day, as per Humber’s past practice and recent Bill 180, Workers Day of Mourning Act, 2016 all campus flags will be flown at half-mast on Friday, April 28th, 2017.  To learn more and write a tribute, visit wsibdayofmourning.ca Humber’s Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee HR Services | Health and Safety Services
