Dear Colleagues,
As you may have seen in Friday evening’s Communiqué, eight members of Humber Polytechnic’s Board of Governors tendered their resignations to the institution. I want to assure you that Humber’s operations and administrative functions remain steady and uninterrupted. Our current Board members, alongside Humber’s leadership team, are fully equipped to continue guiding the institution and advancing our strategic vision and mission. We remain committed to upholding principles of good governance while ensuring there are no disruptions to students or employees.
Recognizing the Board’s critical role in establishing Humber’s overall goals and strategic direction, we are actively working to fill the vacant roles in a timely manner. We look forward to welcoming new Board members who will support Humber’s bold, ambitious vision, and will share another update once the recruitment process has been completed. As promised, I will be hosting in person Town Halls at both Lakeshore and North Campus, and I anticipate sharing updates on the budget and day 10 data. We will be sharing invitations to the Town Halls in the coming days.
As we look to the future, we are reminded of the importance of adapting and leading in a rapidly changing world. With Building Brilliance, we have embraced a bold vision that challenges us to think big, to innovate, and to envision a brighter future, for everyone. This vision is fueled by the incredible work you do and our shared commitment to delivering unparalleled student experiences. You are the backbone of this institution and every day I am amazed by the exceptional skills, resilience, dedication, and heart you bring to everything you do.
Since the very first day I arrived at Humber, I have been in awe of our incredibly talented and inspiring team of faculty and staff as they move mountains to ensure every single student is successful in their post-secondary journeys. I firmly believe the future of our institution rests on Humber’s long-standing legacy as a leader in higher education, which has been shaped by the collective efforts of our community. Thanks to your hard work and leadership, we’ve empowered countless students from all over the world to realize their potential, and our impact extends far beyond the boundaries of our campuses.
I am deeply grateful to everything you do each and every day to ensure the success of our students and entire Humber community. I look forward to seeing you at the Town Halls.
Sincerely,
AMV
