Emergency Exercise at North Campus

TTC Conducting Emergency Exercise at the North Campus 

TTC and Metrolinx, in cooperation with Humber Polytechnic, will be conducting an emergency exercise at the new Light Rail Transit (LRT) station located on the Humber North Campus.  

The exercise will take place on Sunday, April 27, 2025 between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the northeast corner of the North Campus. The main exercise activity will take place between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. All exercise activities will take place either within the station, or on the LRT line just north of Humber Polytechnic in between the Humber and Westmore stations. The main campus is not part of the exercise area and impact to the campus will be minimal. 

What You Can Expect To See

Set up for the exercise will start at 6 a.m. on Sunday morning. You may see emergency vehicles, along with TTC and other vehicles on or near campus, particularly at the plaza in the area of Finch and Westmore. The exercise includes approximately 200 participants, including TTC staff, emergency responders, as well as Humber Polytechnic students and staff who will be acting as passengers on the train. All exercise activities and site clean-up should be complete no later than 2 p.m.  

The exercise will make use of Parking Lot 5 during the exercise. Therefore, Lot 5 will be unavailable for use during the exercise.
