The Facilities & Capital Development Department is pleased to welcome Steph Afonso as the successful candidate for the position of Administrative Assistant, reporting to Jane Rowbotham and also providing support to Jane's direct reports.
Among her key responsibilities will be managing calendars, booking meeting rooms, taking minutes, coordinating food and travel arrangements, providing back-up coverage for reception, supporting departmental communications, maintaining vacation and attendance records for the department, and developing more efficient office administration practices.
Steph comes to Humber from F&A Afonso Enterprises, a property management and electrical contracting company, where she held several progressive roles including Assistant Property Manager, Bookkeeper, Sales Representative and Administrative Assistant. These positions not only provided great experience in customer service and office administration, but exposed Steph to the workings and demands of the facilities industry.
Steph has her Bachelor of Arts: English and Communication Studies and is working towards her Certificate in Project Management. She is also a member of the International Association of Administrative Professionals.
