Teaching Resource Guide for Occupy Space Exhibition

September 16, 2016

Location: Lakeshore Campus, L 1002

On now "Occupy Space"!

This exhibition taps into other-worldly imaginaries to address the social reality of Canadian diversity. The creators of the works featured in this exhibition move in from the margins to occupy speculative realms of popular culture – where the politics of inclusion remain contested.

For this exhibition a teaching resource guide is available for interested faculty to download from our website. This resource guide covers key themes of Afrofuturism, diversity in mass media, Canadian diversity, cultural appropriation and stereotypes, that can be broadly applied to Visual Arts and Popular Culture, Canadian History, Society and Culture, Musical Pioneers, and Indigenous Perspectives.

This resource guide can be used for both in class learning or to help facilitate an in gallery class session. To schedule a class visit for this exhibition please contact galleries@humber.ca

This exhibition is open weekdays 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. until Oct 1st, 2016.
