Celebrating Black Heritage Month 2024: Without Community, There is no Liberation!

As we prepare to step into the vibrant month of February, the Black Student Support & Engagement and the Black Heritage 365 Committee are thrilled to announce the details of Black Heritage Month 2024. This is a special time when we come together to honour, acknowledge, and celebrate the rich contributions of Black Canadians to our shared history, culture, and the Humber community.

The theme for this year’s Black Heritage Month is “Without Community, there is no Liberation!

Throughout the month of February, it will be a journey of exploration and appreciation, where we aim to shine a spotlight on the remarkable achievements, resilience, and community that make up the tapestry of the Black experience. Through a series of engaging events, discussions, and activities, we hope to foster understanding, promote inclusivity, and celebrate the diversity that strengthens Humber!

We invite staff, faculty, and students to help us ring in Black Heritage Month by joining us at our Opening Ceremonies:Date: Thursday, February 1, 2024Time: 12 p.m. - 3 p.m.

We are also thrilled to announce the launch of the Black Student Library Guide. The Library in partnership with Black Student Support and Engagement created this guide that brings together a wealth of resources, services, and information to support your learning around the Black experience both on and off campus.
