Humber Arboretum Nature Camp: The Art of Nature (Ages 5 to 14)

Humber Arboretum day camps are based out of the Centre for Urban Ecology, but campers spend most of their time outdoors where they make their own discoveries in the forest, river, meadows, wetlands, gardens, and ponds of the Humber Arboretum.

Every week at Nature Camp includes:

  • Nature Walks
  • Forest Exploration
  • Ecology Games
  • Wildlife Spotting
  • Pond Discovery
  • Camp Songs and Games
  • Free-Swim Fridays (Supervised time in an indoor pool)

The weekly theme inspires other activities.

The Art of Nature - Monday, July 7 to Friday, July 11, 2025

Connecting with nature through storytelling and art are always part of camp, but this week these creative explorations will be in the spotlight. Campers of different ages will be making art with natural dyes, sculpting with river clay, trying out woodcarving, and much more. Plus we'll be practicing our storytelling skills to share our great nature experiences of the past and our new discoveries from the week with each other.

This week of camp will also include one of two sessions of Junior Naturalists, which is exclusively for 12- to 14-year-olds. Led by a Humber Arboretum Nature Educator with support from camp leaders, Junior Naturalist Camp takes a more in-depth look at each week's theme and is ideal for youth who are already passionate about exploring nature and spending time outside.
