We would like to introduce you and invite you to Humber's First Annual Fair Trade Week.  HummPIRG (Humber Public Interest Research Group) is a on campus club that is interested in local and international issues.  Our primary project is promoting Fair Trade within Humber. Our end goal is for Humber to become a Fair Trade Designated campus which would make it the first college in Ontario to do so.

To begin our campaign, spread awareness, and educate; we are organizing a collection of booths, Fair Trade products and information.  This is an opportunity to engage students and faculty and to get them excited for the future of Humber and Fair Trade!

We would love for you to stop by, spread the word and get to know what we are all about!  The dates of the event are:
Tuesday September 23rd from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the North Campus (Main Concourse)
Thursday September 25th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Lakeshore Campus (2nd Floor of L building)

After launching the new Pcards and associated online processes in April 2014 and after analyzing the statistics of our transition, it quite evident that the users are having difficulty transitioning to the on-line process. For information, approximately 25% of the cardholders have not reviewed and/or approved the on-line transactions. Some of this may be because of the end of winter term or the start of the summer vacation schedule. From good business practice point of view, we need to change this.

To that effect, we are offering a refresher training session in September, once the new semester start up is complete.  We strongly suggest that those who have not successfully reviewed or approved transactions to attend this training session.

September Statement Date: Saturday, September 20, 2014 at midnight
Re-training Date: Tuesday, September 23, 2014
10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
North Campus, Governors Boardroom (Room B101)
Agenda: Cardholder transaction review
Cardholder statement processing and printing
Approver transaction approval
Report writing including export to MS Excel

Please forward this communication to any or all of the cardholders in your area who may benefit from this additional training.

Thank you in advance.

One-in-five Canadians will experience mental health related concerns in their lifetime, and post-secondary students represent a particularly vulnerable demographic. To bolster our capacity to support students, Student Success and Engagement has facilitated Mental Health First Aid Training for over 700 faculty and staff at Humber College. The sessions are free and intended to build foundational understanding of common mental health problems, and helpful responses.

This training is strongly encouraged for all Humber employees. You must complete both days of the training to receive the full benefit of the training and receive a certificate.

To register for this and other workshops, please go to hrs.humber.ca/L&D-Programs.html and create a login account. Once you select your user name you can re-set your password.
