Winter 2018 Orientation

Winter 2018 Orientation is right around the corner!

Our student volunteers are getting very excited as we prepare for our incoming class of students this January! With a revised academic calendar in place, Orientation is happening Thursday, January 25, 2018, at North and Lakeshore campuses.

Orientation is the first step in a student's transition to Humber, and an important milestone to discover services, meet academic staff, and connect with their peers.

Our students can expect to...

CTL: PC Community of Practice

The PC Community of Practice events are designed to enhance communication, networking and sharing within our group of Program Coordinators. Each event will provide a forum for PCs to discuss current issues, share ideas and best practices, and generally share the incredibly rich and diverse body of knowledge within our community.

Get Creating with Arduino: Workshop

Interested in learning more about how to use technology to make your creations come to life? Want to find out about coding and the Internet of Things but didn't know where to start? This workshop will help you learn about the Arduino microcontroller and get you started on a project or two that you can continue or expand on from home.

The workshop will be led by one of our Skills competition winners and Humber graduate, Avery Bird. Highlights of Avery's success can be found at humber.ca/cti.

CTL: Tech Talk - Essential Mobile Apps for Education

Mobile devices are incredibly powerful tools that can enhance teaching and learning in the classroom and on the go. In this workshop, you will discover and use some educational apps that can be part of your teaching toolbox and leverage your mobile devices’ capabilities. You will learn how to download and use these essential apps on your smartphone or tablet. An Apple App Store or Google Play Store account is required in order to download the apps on your personal device during the workshop. A limited number of devices will be available to borrow during the workshop.
