CTL: SoTL - Data Visualization Techniques

This session will provide an introductory overview on how to represent textual data in a visual context to help others better understand its significance or value. Participants will learn tips and tricks on data visualization using Microsoft Excel. Topics to be discussed include arranging data for optimal chart creation, when to use each chart type, examples of good and bad data visualizations, and an introduction to intermediate and advanced chart templates (ex. Histogram, Stacked Bar, Combo, and Sunburst).  

Pictures Taken During Centre for Human Rights Events

The Centre for Human Rights, Equity & Diversity host several educational sessions throughout the year including the Diversity & Inclusion Dialogues and key events. During these sessions photographs are taken to capture key moments of community collaboration and learning. 

If you are participating and/or attending a Centre event or workshop and do not wish to have your picture taken kindly inform the photographer or a representative of the Centre.

CTL: Scholars' Cafe

The Scholars’ Café is a chance to discuss the latest in the teaching and learning literature. It is like a book club, but for journal articles. Each month, faculty will gather to chat informally about a selected paper from a scholarly teaching and learning journal. Please join us for coffee and a collegial discussion!

Note: A pdf of the article will be sent after receiving your registration. The session at the Lake will be by satellite.

Humber Grad Wins at 2017 Premier's Awards

Advancement and Alumni is pleased to announce that on November 27, 2017, members of the Humber community gathered to celebrate six alumni for outstanding achievement and contributions for the 2017 Premier's Awards. The Premier’s Awards celebrate the achievements of Ontario college graduates in the province and throughout the world, and last night we walked away with a big win for Humber in the Technology category. Andrew Bowerbank, a 1989 graduate from Humber’s Industrial Design program, is Global Director, Sustainable Building Services, EllisDon Corporation.
